Established 2017
Barns Etc Hard Cider Shed Cidery, owned by Gary and Paula Frederick, is meeting and exceeding the expectations of cider lovers with our amazing 5 varieties! " Country Elegance" Heirloom Blend Hard Cider is hand crafted from a blend of select Heirloom apples with the Pink Lady ® and Honey Crisp apples included in two of our blends. Our ciders have attracted the attention of cider enthusiasts far and wide! We began working with Tim Larsen, Master Cider Maker of Snowdrift Cider to create each of our Heirloom Apple and Pear blends. His attention to detail and exceptional training have produced award winning ciders known through out Washington State and beyond!
We spoke with Tim about our idea for a collection of ciders that ran dry to sweet. After a year of research and preparation, our first 3 blends, "Country Elegance Heirloom Blend Hard Ciders Dry, Medium and Sweet. were offered to the public. Two years later we added "Country Elegance Heirloom Perry and this last season introduced our new Country Elegance Heirloom Blend Cherry Cider! Are we excited, Yes! The Sweet start of the Cherry finishes with the distinct pie cherry tart .taste. A must try!
Sip & Paint cider tasting sessions are offered by Artist, Paula Frederick to work groups, wedding parties, friends and family, etc. for a fun afternoon evening along side the beautiful Mission Creek. Choose your desired painting to paint while enjoying Country Elegance Hard Ciders! Can't get better than that!
Our Rustic Cider Shed is located 2 miles off the highway at 5420 Woodring Canyon, Cashmere Washington. Look for our tasting room across the driveway from the Cashmere Cider Mill, which serves a large variety of delicious non-alcoholic ciders. Be sure to check our web site, www.hardcidershed.com for a list of hours and days open or the ability to contact us for a special tasting.
We now have our ciders in Leavenworth at the Broken Barrel Mercantile and our Cherry Cider in Wenatchee at the Chamber tasting room downtown Wenatchee. We look forward to seeing you as you venture out Mission Creek Road to Barns Etc Hard Cider Shed, with a touch of Country and a splash of Elegance! Come taste with us!

August 7th, 2013 Check out this wonderful blog http://thewineguy40.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-trip-to-leavenworth.html by Timothy Shultz Here is his paragraph about his visit: (correction to be noted when reading ~ the place is called "The Cider Mill" and we are a separate business across the driveway called Barns Etc Tasting Room & Gallery. We feature our Hard Cider called "Country Elegance" )
"The biggest hit for me was the hard cider. Made from Heirloom apples, some dating back centuries. So, you are asking, what are heirloom apples? Well, according to research, heirloom apples are those varieties that have been in existence for hundreds or even thousands of years. They are non-modified, and non-hybridized for disease, size, etc. Indeed, many people define heirloom apples as those before the era of refrigeration and the subsequent ability to survive the rigors of travel. Therefore, many of these apple varieties date back to colonial America, if not to the time of Julius Cesar. Thus, many people argue that these apples provide superior flavor and taste.
I can attest to that at least in the cider. Country Elegance makes three types of cider--Dry, Medium, and Sweet. I preferred the Medium and Sweet styles over the Dry, but my wife really loved the Dry. I found the sweet and medium styles more refreshing and with a bit more overall "apple-ness." They do use Pink Lady® apples--for balancing out the acidity. I really enjoyed the tasting room as well. Located in a shade grove filled with art work and friendly people. The quaint structure is a throwback to an old barn or shed that provides the patron with a sense of the history of the beverage. Besides, the owner -- when I visited -- was out tying flies for fly fishing, and that is NEVER a bad thing!! By the way, they made a very LIMITED production, so if you are interested, and I encourage you to be, run out and taste some. They are not distributed and I am hoping to see them at the Cider Summit this year in Seattle (September 6 / 7 South Lake Union Discovery Center)"
Alaska Airlines Horizon Edition August 2013 issue has filled its magazine with Cashmere & Wenatchee area business adventures who focus on the Heirloom Apples & produce! Find Barns Etc Country Elegance Heirloom Ciders (pg 65 right column) written by Karalynn Ott.
"We briefly ventured across Cashmere Cider Mill's driveway to the separate Barns Etc. Tasting Room, a small shed in which the Greens' friend Paula Frederick was debuting her Country Elegance heirloom blend Hard ciders. We got to sample the first batch. Some hard ciders are too sweet for my taste, but this semi-dry version was surprisingly effervescent, light, clean and crisp_ very refreshing."
